About Me

I am an Executive Coach, Leadership Consultant, and Educator with 25 years' experience in leadership roles across sectors.

At heart I am a coach. I see coaching not as “something I do” rather as who I am and how I see the world. I have always been a champion and amplifier of others. I have a knack for clearly seeing where people are powerful, especially when they don’t see it themselves.

My lifelong passion has been to explore what makes people thrive, and how they thrive and work best together. My college honors thesis was on resilience, where I researched why some people flourish, while others languish, given the same circumstances.  My thesis advisor asked me what I hoped to do with this research, and I instinctively replied, “I want to find the secret to happiness and share it with everyone.”

I remember this moment clearly. He nodded slowly, and smiled kindly. His eyes held a combination of hope and sympathy. He saw my idealism, and with a silent nod he acknowledged the challenges I would face.

30 years later, my passion remains unchanged, albeit more mature and nuanced. I have replaced notions of ‘blinding happiness’ with an understanding that equanimity, contentment, and purpose are markers of a happy life. There IS a method to creating a thriving life, individually and collectively, and I am committed to sharing it.

A scientist by training, I earned science degrees in Psychology, Management and Adult Education.  In addition to decades of training in Leadership and Executive Coaching, I have extensive experience in Holistic Health and Personal Growth.

As a producer and educator, I have partnered with many esteemed teachers across the world to produce workshops, retreats and online education. I love the “aha” that an audience feels when an important idea suddenly clicks and makes sense. Like a spark set aflame, a newly gained awareness can change a person’s life, and possibly the world. I am motivated to catalyze these sparks.

As a leadership coach, I partner with professionals to gain awareness of themselves and the impact they have on others. I help broaden their skills and tools so they innovate within the complexity, pace and ambiguity inherent in modern life.

As a strategic advisor and consultant, I apply leadership and entrepreneurial skills to nurture projects, organizations, and businesses into being.

I am a stand for inclusive leadership and for creating organizational cultures that harness the collective intelligence of the whole. I help leaders self care, sustain their vision, and maintain resonance with their purpose and passions.

On a Personal Note

I am a survivor. Like many people in the world I inherited a family story and circumstances that were painful, and this taught me how to separate my truth from their truth.  I was born in Spain, to parents who were Cuban exiles and war refugees. We traveled three continents before arriving in the United States in search of a home. My parents would accept infinite losses they would never recover.

My Cuban family and culture modeled for me endless resourcefulness. And they also taught me that joyfulness, celebration, and revelry, especially in the face of hardship, is itself an act of resilience and resistance.

In my younger years I experienced a significant number of young friends who died tragically. These bitter experiences taught me how quickly life can change, and how stunningly precious the “now moment” is.

My biology is wired for anxiety and depression, so I have learned how to manage and thrive anyway. This experience guided me into the healing arts; including Yoga and Ayurveda, Natural Medicine, Holistic Health, and Positive Psychology, which are all forms of evidenced based self-care.

Diving into the interior of my experiences, and using my day-to-day life as a laboratory, I am an expert in practicing what I learn, living into my mistakes, and harvesting their wisdom.

I find fulfillment through new experiences such as travel, live music, and nature. People fascinate and inspire me. Some people know my mischievous streak, which I get from my mother. I am always up for wholesome trouble. I live in the Hudson Valley of New York, USA with my husband, who is a professional musician, and my two beautiful young adult sons.  Other significant communities for me are Boulder, Colorado and Tarrytown, New York.
